Where in NY is it snowing like this?
thanks.... i wish i could send you some snow...lol how come everyone South of me has snow and it's still 7C and not a flake on the ground here? it's not fair.

We have similar amounts in central New York too....and its still currently coming down.
Thats much better then what I woke up to though, my 1 1/2yr old daughter decided to pick her nose this morning in her crib, her face and hands were covered in blood. Nasty...
i took this one for you... no flash outside.. thanks. i will check out the picasa3I like the later this morning one way better simply due to no pop up flash and no shadow. Great photo. Try taking this into picasa3 or some form of editing software maybe add some fill light to it to brighten the snow a little.
You can't trust the in-camera light meter when shooting snow, or other predomninately white scenes.this is later this morning![]()
You are absolutely right..and glad you gave me this info... i will work around using my own srttings.. i just have it on auto now to see how i like this lens.. alot of money... so i want to see if it improves pic quality with out thinking it is me who messed it up...You can't trust the in-camera light meter when shooting snow, or other predomninately white scenes.this is later this morning![]()
The meter is calibtrated to render 18% gray, which is why the snow in this shot is 18% gray, and not white.
You have to manually adjust for about a stop more exposure to get white snow.
