What is a good tabletop tripod to get?

I looked at some of These at a local camera store on Saturday and was pretty impressed by them. They seem to be quite well built and solid and I suspect they would hold quite a load. They are rated at 8.8 pounds as I recall, but they seem pretty sturdy.

I have one of these. I don't use it often, but it lives in the pocket of my main camera bag, just in case.

For a nice (small) tripod, I like the look of the Larger Gorilla Pods from Joby. Would work well for a table top pod, but also for many other things as they are very bendy.
