What is this world comming to?

OK, so a bit of missing the point. The point isn't technical nomenclature, the point is that a government has banned a particular breed of dog because the owners don't want to take the responsibility to properly socialize, train, and make sure THEY are the dominant one. If an insurance company wants to do the same, fine. It's a private company that has money on the line, and it's all about risk management, but it's not OK when the government does it.

(For the record, tha AKC calls the dog an American Staffordshire Terrier, but the UKC does call it an American Pit Bull Terrier. Both are correct. Look it up.)

There are several counties and states that have done it too. It's also why the breed holds a high risk of theft.
 
That's no staffy, and, over here if you cross any bull terrier with another fight breed its a pit bull, the cops take it from you under the dangerous doggie act and it gets destroyed, too many attacks over a short period when every chav in the country had a bull cross. H
