This ones mine. Apparently he didn't even know the girl. Just to be safe, I did NOT take this picture. It was obtained via a google image search.

I believe this is the Trinity A-Bomb Test one millisecond after detonation. According to the source, the white spikes at the bottom are the guide cables vaporizing in the intense heat of the explosion.

I like this picture because it appeals to my inner geek. After all, this picture required an extremely short exposure and protection for the camera (and film) like you wouldn't believe.

This photo is the one that really put Michael Fatali on the grid as one of the top landscape photographers in the world. He found this spot a month before taking this picture, but the conditions weren't right. He returned a week and a half later, and waited 19 days for the moon to move into the right position at the right time with the fading light. I've personally seen this enlarged up to 40x50 and one word comes to mind: flawless. He only shoots on large format 8x10 film, without using any filters for any of his shots.

It was also featured on the cover of the book "Landscape: The World's Top Photographers and the Stories Behind Their Greatest Images" Amazon.com: Landscape: The World's Top Photographers and the Stories Behind Their Greatest Images (9782880465766): Terry Hope: Books

That is an awesome picture

Steve McCurry hope I spelled that correctly but his picture of the Afghan girl from National Geographic is still one of my faves.
