What lens combo

I have decided I'm going with a d90. I have came up with a few options and would like some input regarding what one is the most logical. I enjoy shooting scenic shots, night, and will maybe do some portrait.

Nevertheless, here are my options:

OPTION 1: Nikon D90 with 5.8x 18-105 mm lens. No TAX or Shipping

Lens supposedly isn't too great: Nikon 18-105mm VR

OPTION 2: Might be better to buy a body only:

OPTION 3: D90 body + a middle class lens. Any specific one I should consider (~$300ish or so budget if I went that way).

Try Adorama to, they have refurbished D90's as well. As for lenses, a 50mm f/1.8 is good for night and all the other things you mentioned. I like the 50mm...cheap to.
