what to purchase first

I am thinking of buying the SB600 tomorrow..I have a Nikon D3000---this will be my first purchase besides the camera. DO you think this is what I need to get first?? I need my photos to more clear than they have been. WIll the SB 600 work for that? I wish there was a list of what to get first...lol

What are you shooting?

Maybe a tripod or mono-pod... Or some studio lights/flashes (umbrellas or softboxes and what not... or a background/background stand... or a more specialized lens?

There are MANY options... And they are going to depend on what you plan to do with your camera.

But in general, I think a flash is good to have no matter what.

I assume you bought a lens or two with the camera (lol) ... which one(s)?

A flash is probably one of the most useful accessories you can buy, but I'm not totally convinced that it's more important than good lenses...
(But, yes - I do think that it would help to get 'more clear' pictures.)

I will say though that I wish I had bought mine a lot earlier. I never really thought it was that important, but after having it for a while now, I don't know what I was thinking then - lol!

Thank-you all for your input! No I haven't bought any lenses yet :/ All I have is what my camera came with. SO I will get the SB 600 tomorrow. Then I guess my next thing will be tri-pod. I have been doing mostly on-location shoots, but I live in Michigan so now it's WAY to cold for outdoor shoots. I am trying to get the things needed to maybe shoot a few in the living room. Thanks again!
