Thing is you can re-create the limited shooting count of film just by using a cheap, small sized memory card. One of the lower end ones would not be too expensive and would slow the write time as well. So spray and pray becomes less of a method people can use. You'll still probably get more than 35 shots, but you'll be slowed down a lot.

If you really really want to re-create that film experience have the student pay you £10 every 35shots

Take them out shooting, let them use your camera. Show them a few cool things with it.

Maybe they will be inspired to buy a cheap DSLR, then you can teach them something they can use in practice.
