What's new

What type of lens is this? Best DSLRS?

The quality looks amazing! What kind of camera would you recommend for quality like this?

I don't understand your question.
Any dSLR can produce this kind of picture.
The quality isn't good, it's underexposed and out of focus.

I'm asking you what kind of Lens he is using, my style of photography is similar to him and I wanted to know what kind of lens he was using

What kind of lens he is using?

A black one.

Sorry, repeating a question that has no real meaning doesn't make it clearer any more than printing it in larger type.
The lens is dark so we can't read the writing around the bevel to see any more than you can.

If your 'style' is like his, then what lens do you use?

Lmao I just love the help you guys give. It's a simple question, but ****ing thank you.

It's not a simple question, it's just a question that can't be answered because we have no data.

What do you think we could see that you don't?

Without markings, it can be virtually impossible to tell from the front, in all honesty. There's so many different lenses out there for so many different cameras that it becomes nearly impossible to tell unless it says HOLY CRAP I'M A FREAKING NIKON/CANON. As for this kind of shot, many, many of these have been done with cell phones even, but if you're looking for a big, chunky DSLR as part of the photo, Canon 70D, Nikon D7100, or Sony a77.

A simple, 'its hard to tell' could've been fine, there was no need for the patronizing. Just saying.

From our side, you walk in here without introducing yourself or saying anything and expect an answer to a question as if you deserve to be listened to.

You could have said something like:' Hi, guys, my name is nichollexo. I'm starting to take pictures and I like this one. What kind of a lens is he using?'

In other words, treat us the way you would like to be treated.

It's a camera lens. That's all that can be garnered from the image provided.

NO WAY can we say, "Oh, that's a WhizMo 17.28-555mm F/1.2."

You'd have just as much luck asking who made his necklace. Or where he bought his shirt.

Welcome to the site, nichollexo!

Hard to tell what the guy's using...can't really see the lens or the camera...looks like it might be a somewhat long-ish focal length, based on how rapidly the depth of field falls off.

It is a canon ef 10- 22 mm is, are you happy now.

Here's a thought: Ask him.

Or, are you posting an image made by someone you don't know personally? If so, you're violating the Forum rules.

Then again, if 'your style' is 'just like his', then I would think you would already know the answer.

And that's enough - everyone take a deep breath and calm the heck down.

Camera and lens can't be worked out from the shown photo - no detailing on the lens barrel that we can see to determine what it is. The camera body and lens would suggest a DSLR of some kind (body shape an the size of the lens).

As for style remember that there are many ways to approach the same photo and that chances are you could get a similar result with a number of various lenses - esp depending on the kind of budget you have. A 24-70mm f2.8 could likely get this shot or if you're more more limited a 50mm f1.8 or even a 35mm could work well for this kind of photo where distortion isn't a problem.
