whats a good starter lens

now im getting back into photography more than i used to be and im ready to move beyond my 18-35 kit lens.

with my pentax k1000 i have a 35mm a 28-85mm and a 70-200mm.

i do miss shooting with film but i think its time to invest in a new lens for my digital.

its a nikon d3000

I would say 50 f/1.4, but it is pricey (but a joy to own).
The 50mm f/1.8 s cheaper, but you'll have to manually focus it (it's not too bad).

Or the 35mm f/1.8 which will AF on your body.

i do prefer manual focus anyway so that wont be a problem, i did get a new car recently so itll take a while to save up for a lens now more then ever, thanks for the suggestions

You might be able to find the f/1.8 for less than $100. Just keep an eye out.

I'd say a 2.8 zoom, the Sigma 17-50 seems decent.
