Whats a good zoom lens for sports?

I like to shoot in manual. I have shot my XTi at 1600 and got decent results. Try it! be sure and keep the shutter speed up!

If you're shooting at night, go to ISO 800, Tv mode, shutter speed at 1/250 to 1/400. Or, Av mode and open up all the way, see what your shutter speed will be. ISO 1600, you'll get noise, but most of it can be removed in post production. For daylight shooting, ISO 200 or 400 (400 would be better with that lens I think), and shutter speed at around 1/400. For sports, those speeds will usually freeze the action good enough. Oh ya, for night games, it will be extremely tough with virtually any camera unless you have a 2.8 lens.
