What's new

What's the deal?

I would say if you post pictures or post something you should expect somebody to possibly say something about it. Also if you post pics and ask for c&c you can't expect people to be nice because it is c&c. You want them to make comments about your photos so you are intentionally leaving yourself wide open. Maybe you just have to have some testicular fortitude to hang around these forums... I seem to do well myself. For example I got corrected that the camera I am using right now is not a DSLR and I thought the person could have gone about it in a nicer way but I just brushed it off and keep surfing the forums.

Not a good intro....at...all.

It's like grandma always said:

If you don't want to hear what people have to say, don't ask them.

What are the odds of a second post? Any takers?

Kidding aside, welcome. Maybe not the best way to introduce yourself, but no big deal. Spend some time here and more than likely you'll like it. There's other places that tell you, "great job," when it's definitely not a great job. Then there are other places that rip you to shreds when you've got a decent photo. I think this is a happy medium. Stay a while, post some photos, give it a chance.

I just joined this forum not to long ago and I'm noticing a disturbing trend with some off the members here. Some ppl seem to get attitudes with others in threads. I've seen this more times than I had expected, and I was just wondering if one of the prerequisites for being a photographer was to immediately grow a head that will develop it's own solor system due to extreme size, and become a complete a**? Jeez, give me a break......but for the most part everyone seems nice. I guess you always have that ten percent. SOOOO......Howdy all!

I am(very) new too, and have also noticed this.

Guys remember that:

a) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if you don't agree with it. Just think what a scary place the world would be if you couldn’t have an opinion.

b) This forum will be a much better place to learn and share ideas if everyone is treated with respect.

c) Some people are new to the forum (like me), and may be turned off by people attacking their views and opinions. :grumpy:

d) Some people are new to photography in general, and could benefit more from being taught the right way rather than saying something like "what a terrible shot".

e) Discussions and suggestions are good, just be respectful and keep it positive.

I do my best to be as nice about things as possible when I c&c somebodies photos. There are alot of great people on these forums that are extremely helpful and do what they can to help you but you know the saying the bad few spoil the batch... also don't read a book by its cover. There are some people here and there that could be more professional and helpful but you just have to accept that they are just like that and read the good post of the good people on this wonderful forum. Don't let a couple mean or toe steping post stop you from enjoying the forum. You just gotta keep on keepin on and learn from experiences and keep going. If you love photography you shouldn't let anybody try and stop you.

I totally agree with the OP. I posted something on the intro forum and not one single reply hauahahauahaau

But I got over it. :)

I thought this topic was going somewhere but looks like its moving close to the neverland.........

:delete:

:delete:

did you *really*?

I thought it was obvious by the end of the OP's post it was just going to crash and burn... as the rest of these types of threads always do  :sexywink:

I am going to try to be nice here, and take my own advice.

Your responses to my post and this one are basically what I was talking about.

All you are doing is arguing here, and looking for a conflict. Nothing constructive or positive at all. :grumpy:

What are you trying to accomplish with these posts, ask yourself that?

I am finished posting in this thread, as I don't like the direction its going.

Can you please point me to the magical forum out there that dosen't have that in which you are using as a reference? Sure would be nice to be able to interact with all those fairys and unicorns all day with those pretty fields of green and rainbows everwhere. Do they have pixie dust there?
