We're going to see huge amounts of office workers and most other mainstream type workers unemployed in the coming years so it was inevitable that the outsider/artsy type jobs were number one in the firing line. The creative type jobs were always going to be the first to be obliterated by AI as they're easily replicated by this anti human technology.

Truisms galore. AI reconfigures/reassembles/recombines but comes up short on innovation. No AI platform could have confected the July Harper's Bazaar cover with Emma Corrin sporting hairy armpits. Hardly the work of "obliterated" creativity.

Let's just go with the notion that you know what you're talking about for once. You're using the exception as your example, both of us know that isn't the way one would express what the majority is experiencing.

Your outgassing aside, "real" is where the real money is and always will be. Photo editors at pubs that matter know the difference and pay accordingly.

They said the camera would replace painters. Didn't happen. It just created new art and allowed many more people to engage. The same was said of computers replacing jobs as well. But think of all the new jobs created by the technical industry. Think of blacksmiths who lost their jobs to the automobile industry that now employs millions worldwide. Of course there are displacements and people have to retrain and adjust.

However, we can;t even imagine what creative art will happen in the future due to AI. Look at the Hollywood and on-line streaming industry that uses computer generated imaging in movies like Star Wars, cartoons, etc. Even in advertising. That's art too. AI is just the next stage.

I follow many Photoshop and photography FB pages. It seems that every day someone is posting the client wants the raw files. And ALL the files taken.

I'm a hobbyist that takes portraits for family and friends. I tell them at the beginning of the session that I may take 2 or 3 shots of the same pose for blinkies or maybe a hair out of place. That way they know why I deliver only a portion of the shots taken.

The introduction of computers wasn't being hailed as an industrial revolution, whereas AI is. When WEF chief brain Yuval Noah Harari is asked on what humans will be doing in the near future, he answers with 'a combination of drugs and computer games'. Now they already have half the western world on mind numbing anti depressants and I'd estimate about 80% are glued to their phones 24/7, so I'd say they're fast succeeding in getting humans ready for this.

The beauty of AI for those in control is that most people have no idea what it really means. They do speak about it openly at their big 'elite' get togethers so it is really easy to learn about what is coming if you care to look, but people would rather see what their friend is eating for dinner tonight instead of seeing what the future of the world holds. AI is going to make humans obsolete, and it will happen much quicker than anyone thinks. All the wars and crisis in the world combined will not equate to the devastation that AI will bring.

I think this (AI) could be a significant part of 'The Great Filter' - part of the possibilities to solving the Fermi Paradox. In brief terms to any who may not know about this - why are we seemingly alone in the universe - one hypothesis is that life destroys itself before it reaches space faring levels (long distance space flight of course, not barely being able to get to your own moon/planetary neighbour).
Ideas could be that planets run out of materials / resources before the tech can reach the required level, or that an invention is commonly made at a certain stage in tech development and this ultimately leads to their destruction, again before they can reach the necessary tech level for intergalactic space flight.... They call this unknown 'thing' that stops civilizations progressing a barrier, The Great Filter...

There are some really scary, serious theories out now that suggest we are already in the beginnings of the next Great Filter. The big drop in the birth rate worldwide is a primary driver of these thoughts. That and micro plastics in all of us, everywhere. And forever chemicals. And... ok I'll stop now.

I want to listen about your everyday's issues in this business. Is it marketing your services? dealing with clients? obtaining clients? organizing your pictures? managing your website? is it something else?

As a staffer at a huge state agency, all my problems were always in dealing with the bureaucracy. Marketing etc was not an issue. Technical matters were usually easily handled.

That is now in the past and I currently have no problems !

My biggest gripe is how people in general try to get involved in the process. My process of taking photographs.

Either it's random's who want to be part of it. Or want to watch and get in the way.
