What's your brand of choice, and why?

Nikon- cuz when I was looking for a DSLR that would make me awesome, the D40 was the least expensive and (IMO) best entry level DSLR.

Haha, no...the "DSLR=Awesome pics" illusion ends after the first shoot. Fortunately, the D40 is still a very competent camera. And, the 1/500 flash sync makes me feel special.

I've loved learning on the D40. I will add that I've been trying my hand at film on a Pentax k1000. I found that camera.
