where to start

Hi there,
I have been a CCTV Installer For the past 12 years and picked up a considerable amount of technical information while setting up CCTV camera's. Many of the cameras we use employ a lot of the technology in the digital camera for photography. I really enjoy my job and have recently got more into the photography side of imaging but am struggling which camera to get me going. Does anyone have some advice for a camera more suited to my background that I would feel comfortable starting with.

Don't get it at BestBuy or a big box store. Go to a speciality retailer. Talk to the staff, get to know the cameras. Feel and see which you like the best. My recommendation for a starting camera: the Fuji X10. But that's just my opinion
