Which Company Digital Camera is Best for Photography Purpose?

When you say digital camera do you mean a Point and shoot or a DSLR and ignore the guy who said Canon obviously he knows nothing

There is no such thing as 'the best camera'. If there was, it would be the only one sold.

This applies to anything in the mass-marketing world. There is no 'best car'. There is no 'best beer'. There is no 'best cell phone'.

The reason there's so many different models within a given company is because they are intended to fill the different needs of the consumers. Ford makes the Mustang for those who desire a sports car. They also make the Focus for those who need a family car. They also make the F250 for the contractor. They also make the E350 for the delivery company.

What you have to do is decide which model manufactured by each company best suites your needs, then compare them for function, quality and price.

I can only hope this was an attempt at starting a flame war...

It's like asking "which fruit is best for eating". Go to a review website like dpreview.com, check out all the cameras with the stats you like, look at the accessories you might want, then go to a store and hold the cameras. Pick the one that suits your needs best.

Though, the topic does raise an interesting question for me...

What camera is best for purposes other than photography?

All of them.

Fluke is really more of an "imagine device" while HST is a telescope with a camera that captures what the telescope sees. Both are about capturing images and therefore both are for photography.

HST has more than just a visible light cameras. Many spacecraft 'image' in other segments of the spectrum, Just as an IR camera 'see's in IR. Photographs, as we typically see them, are just a by-product of the process.

HST was not built just to take pretty pictures. And I doubt very many folks will seek out a photographer so they can have an IR portrait done.

The first reply in this thread was correct. Canon.

There is no 'best car'.
Jeep.
There is no 'best beer'.
Shiner.
There is no 'best cell phone'.
I'll give you that one, but I don't really care what kind of phone I have as long as you can call people on it.

Nikon.

actually, when ford first started making the mustang it was never suppose to be a "sports car" it was geared toward women in there 20's and 30's. They paid the show "mary tyler moore" to have their mustang in the opening scene where she is washing it to promote it toward them. So basically, the mustang was meant to be a "chick car".

I think it is a rather personal feeling. You need to test and feel and find the "right" choice for yourself
