I'm not gonna tell which one I am a member of or which one won, but both of these choirs won the national championship in Chicago and New York. This is footage from the final competition.

Which one do you think should've won?

Reason? Simply better sung, more in tune and overall more difficult to achieve intonation wise.

Aye, [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dimHCV1S7p8[/ame] for me too. The other one suffers mainly from being out of tune - and I'm cursed with an obsession with perfect pitch.

Honestly? Couldn't even watch the first one through.

The first one won. It was actually a dead tie, but they broke it with music score, oddly enough. Unfortunately, the tie was broken by one of the three judges, the one that just happened to be number 1's ex director. Their repetitive and simple choreography bothers me the most.

Choir 1 was also majorly gloating after this competition. They were telling us that "we sucked", and they proceeded to parade a headless tiger (representing the circus theme) on a stick that was stuck through its behind. Lots of drama following that. The director literally wanted to bring the choir over to our High School at 7:00 in the morning to apologize to us. Anyway, I'm biased. Keep in mind the videos don't even remotely do either Choir justice. The camera was placed very far back, and the theater was very large (4 balconies high). They could've been miked better too.

Hands down, 2005 was our best year: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIAUBVI5p8M&feature=related[/ame] (I wasn't in it then). Anyway, enough of me rambling.

In case you haven't figured out, I'm a member of number 2.

Such is life sometimes, not fair! Choir #2 was better prepared musically. Period. And you can take that to your choir director, I'm sure s/he will appreciate it.

Don't let this bother you too much... ;)

Lol it bothered me at first, but its been 6 months since. I'm over it.

UPDATE: They're making a TV show pilot show choir, inspired by these two award winning choirs. Its called "Glee", and they're filming it at my school on weekends. Awesome!

first choir sounds like everybody is trying to be louder than the next. and the two at the beginning were way too choppy.
2nd is much better, smoother and easier on the ears, even in a crappy recording.

sucks that you got screwed in this. the deciding judge shouldnt have even been on the panel for having ties with that choir. conflict of interest.
