Why can't I upload photos

Hello!

I just joined the group, because it seems like an excellent place to discuss black and white photography. But I can't upload pictures! At first, I selected a picture from my computer and clicked Upload, and I got a bell sound, and a little circle with an exclamation mark in it, and nothing else. No explanation of what the error was. I tried the basic uploader. I browse to my file, click Upload File, and the name of the file disappears from the box, but nothing else happens.

I do not want to upload my photo someplace else because my question is why I get poor quality from the places I uploaded it to, and I was hoping it would show up as better quality here.

I tried uploading to the users' gallery and to my member's gallery, and no luck there either. I get something at the bottom of the page that says "Processing upload", and the little circle just keeps spinning and spinning. The file is less than 140 KB, about 800 by 530 pixels.

You have to be a paying member to upload directly to the forum.

Unless you want to pay to be a member here, host your pictures somewhere else, like Flickr or Photobucket. Then just post links to them. You need 5 posts (I think) to be able to do that (to be able to post a link)...

Actually, I don't think that even paying members can upload directly to posts. But all members should be able to upload to their own member gallery. From there, you can can copy the url into you posts. You can also use off-site hosts like Photobucket & Flickr.
