Why did the caribou cross the road?

This pair of caribou were browsing by the side of the road the other night. They decided to cross but got nervous with all the traffic and just started hoofing it down the side of the road which caused all the cars to stop. Not great as far as wildlife photography goes but I like the one showing the two caribou together walking down the road with the cars stopped. Luckily my wife was driving that night allowing me to hang out the window with my camera.
