Depends.Our eyes see much better in low light than the camera does, so it can be hard to accurately gauge just by looking.
With my D5100, when I use the 35mm f/1.8, its funny how bright photographs are getting.
Even stronger with the ISO 102,400 mode that only produces black and white pictures. I see hardly anything, while the camera still produces a niceish image.
And thats neither the best performing low ISO camera nor the brightest lens in existence.
