Wild Animal Pics for C&C

Over sharpening and adding a lot of brightness to a dim/dark shot are two ways you can increase the amount and visibility of noise in a photograph. How did you edit these shots?

If you are referring to the program used, it was Light Room 3. I did edit some brightness and sharpening, should could be the reasoning for all of the noise. I will have to play with the two of those and post some re-re-edits :)

The lion photo looks a bit bleached and looks like it could use a respectable does of upping the saturation. Get that yellow color to pop!

Remember one limitation of lightroom is that any editing you do is applied to the whole photo rather than to select areas. This is where having a second dedicated editing program (Eg photoshop elements or CS5) is a great support tool which allows you to select distinct areas of the photo to work on. Sometimes certain areas will need more light or less - more contrast or less - more sharpening - more noise reduction etc....

A friend of mine has Elements, I'll have to see if I can borrow it from her long enough for me to install it on my system. Yes, this is my way of saying I'm entirely cheap! I'll have to learn about anything PS again, cause it's been many years since I have used it!
