Wow, that's terrifying! My best friend just experiencedan F3 plow through their small town of Goderich Ontario. Scary stuff.
I will always find mother nature fascinating in how uncontrollablydestructive it can be. I'm an extremelysensitive and empathic person, so by no means do I want these natural disastersto encounter people's lives' negatively, but you're right, as humans, we'regoing to be naturally drawn to such wonders regardless.

Samspade: Did you get evacuation warnings or anything? What are the precautions involved?

The warning I got was walking out the door and seeing it on the horizon, we had called it in but it had already been called in by other people as it started west of us and had been burning east. The wind started pushing it north as it got closer it basically went around. The closest it got to my home was was about 1/4 mile, The sheriff and fire department closed the road by our home and the only people who were allowed down it were residents who lived on the road. Around here they don't force people to leave their home and to my knowledge there is no legal standing for them to do so, this is not like a California or an East Coast state. Most people try to stay and fight the fire unless it is looking like it will it will overwhelm them because they don't want to lose everything.
