I also use a Raynox DCR-150 close-up lens but with a prime lens you have a fixed camera to subject distance & thus a fixed magnification whereas a set of three tubes provides 7 levels of magnification. The DCR-250 mentioned above has a very narrow depth of field & some folk find it more difficult to use than the DCR-150.
Here are a some shots using the Raynox DCR-150 on my Canon S5.
