window VS flash- Can you tell which are which?

I love natural light, though your artificial is quite convincing.

I think the first two shots are lovely. Though in the first I also think that in trying to make the head more central you loose the whole a bit. By using rabatment you can make the head central to the right square and bring the whole beautiful shape back into the image.

I had originally considered this crop! Then settled on leaving his eyes on the 1/3 line. After reviewing them side by side, I think you're right. Centered seems to work here, and I think I will remove a little negative space on the bottom, and rest him on the lower 1/3 line. Thanks!

Thirds doesn't really work here, all you do is place an arbitrary point on an imaginary line that's twice as far to one frame edge as it is the other, there's no rhythm as the line is not defined or repeated. It takes no account of the shape as a whole. Your eye sees by division and easily recognises equal parts, so if you imagine the right frame edge as one side of a square its easy to see the whole square and it's centre. You can then balance with a similar square formed from the left vertical, it doesn't matter that they overlap.
As to the space surrounding it's quite equal. If I draw a horizontal line you can see it's distribution easier. I would also put a border on the image. Have a play and see what you prefer.
