So here's my 1st attempt at shooting wine in a glass. There's still some cloning I would do, but I don't think my lighting setup is cutting it. 2 lights one off a white card behind and frame left of the glass the other frame right off a white cardboard reflector placed behind the glass.

This is giving the wine a rather boring consistency. Should I go to foil? what other suggestions do you have to improve the quality of the liquid?

If turning moscato into milk were a superpower then call the Hall of Justice. Here's a light the background attempt:

perhaps I've had too much wine to drink now and should call it a night ;)

I think the liquid looks more transparent with foil, but the foil was a bit of a problem for me to keep flat. The magnification of the wine glass really made this tricky ;p

I wouldn't drink #1 or #3. #2 looks a bit more palatable.

Nice Shot Gary! Where did you shoot that? It looks like either a casino or an arcade?

I'm think I get the point that my background is a little too boring to convince my mind it's transparent :)

That was shot while wine tasting at the Stephen Ross tasting room in San Luis Obispo, California.

*Tip to wine tasters ... you will get a longer pour if you whip out a camera and shoot the pour.
