Wine Making!

So, my husband and uncle have been beer home brewers for years. I have made meade but yesterday I started my very first batch of wine. Day 1 is almost done and the yeasty beasties are doing their thing. Hopefully this turns out well. It is a zinfandel so it doesn't have to age. Wish me luck!

It will make about 30 bottles. I'll be set for the summer
Unfortunately wine takes a few weeks to make so no homemade wine for tonight.
I do have spiced meade and of course we have plenty of beer.

Hey, good luck with this, Christina! My husband and I made a few batches of wine, several years back, with varying levels of success. We made two batches of muscadine wine (from wild grapes), one was tasty, the other got dumped down the driveway; something went wrong. And we made one batch of strawberry wine which was actually not as nasty as it sounds.

But it's so much nicer to just have a wine budget and a cellar. I hope this turns out for you - be sure to let us see the final product!

We never made that much at one time, maybe 10 bottles.
