I left Wire Dude on the set last night when I went to bed, apparently that wasn't very nice and it gave him lots of time to think.

He decided he wanted to "cut the cord" so to speak from his spool so he is never stuck like that again. I offered to cut him free but he wanted to do it himself so I found him something he would be able to work with. After LOTS of apologies he agreed to let me take a shot of him working.

After he freed himself he showed me what he believes to be his name and age, I didn't have the heart to tell him ;)
Nice to meet you Gauge!

Very nice images of your wire dude. Keep it up!

Still enjoying these...
Wonder what wire gal's name/age might be, perhaps wire dude is a toyboy?

Thanks Daniel and RobN :)

RobN, I'm not sure what he will get himself into or who he will meet along the way, I'm as curious as you are!

You silly rabbit.
It took me a extra minute to see what was happening in the first one but it still a lot of fun. (I didn't read what you wrote till after I looked...I do that)

This might not be all that important but --- It looks to me like that's a solder spool. That's why I mentioned the heat. You might want to check if it contains lead. Symbol is Pb. Lead is a hazard. Usually lead is combined with Tin. Symbol is Sn. Newer solder is made without lead but if it contains lead then be sure to wash your hands after working with wire dude. Just saying....

Good info to know about the wire, Rick. I'll have to check out the wire I use at work and home.

Haha, thanks Mishele :)

Thanks for the heads up Rick. This is just small gauge wire I had left over from playing around with small scale chainmaille ;)

Just checked at work and we use OOK Steel Galvanized Wire. Probably the best way to go to not have to deal with lead. Can be picked up at most hardware stores.

There actually is one thing wire related that I'm a little worried about. He is about 20 gauge by my best guess and eventually he is going to get brittle at "joints" that are always bent putting him into different positions. I'm looking into some plastic coatings as a possibility, I first thought of that shrink wrapping you apply heat to but I don't think that is a great option.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to protect him a bit, preferably no colours/clear I'm all ears!

This set and number one is my favorite. Looking forward to finding out what happens next. ;)

I love it!! Great photos AND a storyline!
