Wireless Shutter Release Not Working on the 40D

Hi,
I just bought a wireless shutter release made by Dot Line RS-RT04 that is supposed to work for the Canon 40D, but the receiver end plug didn’t fit on the camera remote socket. According to the instruction, the EOS should use a 3.5 mini plug and that is what came with the receiver, but it didn’t fit on the camera. The socket on the 40D seems to take only a 3 pin style plug. Am I out of option beside returning the receiver?

Yes the Dot Line RS-RT04 f/EOS one does have a 3.5mm miniplug. However that's not the one you wanted. The website says clearly for EOS 350D 400D 500D and some point and shoot models.

You wanted the Dot Line RS-RT04 f/Can 3 with the Canon 3 pronged plug for all DSLRs in double and single digits. See if they'll do a swap.
