LOL, less than an hour after ordering a D7100 and being worried about the speed and buffer I get this
I was at my normal spot when I heard/saw either a falcon or a harrier. It led me deeper into the woods. I paused for a second to see if I heard it again when I got this uneasy feeling I was being watched... Comments welcome
I turned to my left and saw these 2 big eyes starring back at me...

The Owl took off but didn't fly to far. As soon as I raised my camera....

So there you have it. The D300 only missed 1 out of 6 shots and I somehow caught this at 1/500th sec. This is why us crazy birders need a good burst rate and a quick clearing buffer...
