Still trying to find a direction. Whattya think?

Lotta' blackness, a lot hidden, not much revealed. I'm not all that sold on the large expanse of blackness with so little visual payoff. Perhaps if the photo were viewed by an aficionado, then he could fill in the blanks, and appreciate what is being hinted at, but as a non-aficionado, I am left wanting more to literally look at, more to see, and less blackness.

I know what it is right away. Is that yours?

I like it. The composition is spot on and there is enough there for someone to know what it is and interesting enough for those who don't.

It just lives out on the street, belongs to a navy lad who lives in the next building. I couldn't put a year on it, but it's pretty new. Harley Sportster, I believe. But I was aiming for more of an abstract!

I knew what it was right away but I would still like to see more. I guess bike people will know right away and it will be less abstract for that crowd.

I actually like it the way it is.

At first sight I didn't know what is it, I just looked at lines and light, but I was intrigued enough to stay on it and search.
If there was more to see at the first moment, it wouldn't be that interesting

I love it as is, too. It works for me as an abstract, though there are enough visual clues to detect what it is (maybe not specifically a Harley, but that doesn't matter). It's about shape and shine, shadow and a glowing bit of texture...and I love the darkness. If it were a straight shot of an identifiable bike, it would lose my interest quickly.

Honestly, I think it's one of the better ones I've seen you put out lately, Andrew. :thumbup:
