A couple of thoughts: Try rotating the camera into portrait orientation and zoom out just a bit. People are long and thin, and generally speaking portraits should reflect that. The monochrome isn't bad, but it is a bit mid-tone rich, and might benefit from a slightly increased contrast.

I'd agree with those comments. One additional comment: the baby's eye's look, well, "black" on this monitor...no eye color is discernable...the yes are just very dark. Perhaps you have an editing application that will allow you to use a small, round brush, and selectively lighten the centers of the eyes?

thanks for the feedback! I tried to apply what you both said. Are they eyes too much now?

I can't get past how uncomfortable the baby looks. Otherwise, I'd agree with tirediron.

He wasn't uncomfortable ( my baby ) but I can see how you could think that. Anyway I applies what tirediron suggested, does the second set look better as far as contrast and eyes go?

Honestly, for this example, I would stick with the color version.
