Yashica FX 2 frame counter question.

Hey all,

I have a yashica fx-2 and im trying to rewind the film counter back to s, but there is no film in the camera and when i follow the instructions to rewind the counter back to s it doesnt rewind the counter. How do i rewind the counter without film in the camera? Is it possible? Thanks!

You don't "rewind" the counter. It only counts up.
The exposure counter gets reset when the back is opened.

When you open the back of the camera, a small switch is released which resets the frame counter. If the groove that the back fits into when closed has sticky light seal foam in it, the switch will not release. This can still happen if the light seals have been replaced and the groove was not cleaned properly first. It can also happen if an amateur replaces the light seals and places light seal foam over the switch.
