Well, the shot got me noticing the birds and their situation rather than the photo, so I'd say it must have been well salvaged. Nice one.

You might want to be a little more aggressive with a curves adjustment then back down some of your color saturation...I think you'll find there's a lot more image in there than you processed to....but that's just my take.
