Yongnou triggers

I am new(never done it before) to radio triggers. Received aset of one tx and three rx recently. I have yet to get them to trigger the flash (es). By all indications the units are communicating but the flash does not fire. Yongnou's instructions are rudimentary at best and I have no prior knowledge to fall back on. Plase help.
PS. referring me to Google is not helping!

RF-600TX and RF-602RX.As I said the indcators on all units say they are working, just no triggering the flashes. Flashes in question are SB 800 anda couple of ancient Vivitars.

Make sure everything is in "manual" mode; camera and all flashes.

If the Vivitars are OLD then they may well require a higher trigger voltage, but anything should trigger the SB800.

Checklist:

-Fresh batteries?

-DIP switches all set correctly?

-Flash correctly seated on the receiver unit?

I'm not familiar with these particular units, but does the receiver unit have a 'test' or 'push to flash' button? If so does the 800 fire when you push that?

David444- Vivitar 2000 and 225 these are from early 80s. Havent tried new batteries as to day was 1st test. i t will be next week before I can get inti town for new ones so everything is on hold
Designer- yes, everything in manual
tirediron- Hi, John.Fresh batteries already answered, rechecked dip switches ( haven't heard that term in a while) several times and tried other codes. Yes they have atest push whichcan also be used as a remote shutter release when so configured.
To all - Thanks much for your responses. i wiil be back after further investigation and texting. I have one of the 3 Rxs unused so that will answer the question of possibly frying the other units. Thanks again all.

Had a chance today to play some more. SB 800 now working with 2 of the 3 Rxs. Now I can start experimenting with OFC. Un fortunately what I want to do will be outside and the weather has turned wet for the time being.I guess the junk in my house is about to be photographed.

OH yeah it must have been bad batteries in 3rd Rx. Will check that out too.

Good news!! It is a bit damp out isn't it? You should drive down next time I'm in the studio with a TF* shoot and we can do some work with a real, live model.

Thanks John. Don't Know what a TF* shoot is, and am not very interested in people photography. But would love the experience of observing if not actually participating. Who knows--maybe it's catching.

TF* = Trade for; model comes in, gets a free photo shoot and in exchange let's me experiment with lighting/technique whatever.

Sounds like fun, even tho I am uncomfortable shooting people. give me a shout sometime and I will come down. Would like to see the studio and equiment at the very least.
