Fireworks and Exploding Chairs - TPF Germany Meet-Up

Number 3 of florians set looked like weed at first glance!

I think they look like Rittersporn (German). I don't know the English common name but if you search in Google images for Delphinium you will find them. :)

But of course, I could be totally wrong! LOL

Haven't had time to do any more tonight - I'll catch up tomorrow, I think we are owed a few from Germany unless the hotspot is not that hot anymore!

Don't worry, it is the hot spot is still quite hot, just we are all so busy that we cannot really post much ;) I wonder how Unimaxium manages to keep them coming ..

Looks like everyone is having a great time! Keep 'em coming (as if we could stop you...)! :D

This photo of Alex is art!!!
If you don't understand this kind of art, I can't help...
I think Florian knows something..... ;) Too funny!

They're creepy and they're kooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
They're all together ooky,
The Photo Forum Family.
hmmm....Should be the new TPF description, anyone agree? :biglaugh:

Have fun, all! :)

OK, time for some of my snaps I guess!

After a rough Canoe race on the river Wümme where some of us got rather wet and I got half blind from a combination of insect repellent and hay fever in my eyes, I finally got some time for posting...

1: Already on the first day most of us ran out of money, but Tony and Sandie soon got the idea of robbing the local bank ...
TPF_2386.jpg

2: With all the money in our hands we could finally get more food and booze. Unfortunately, we realised only too late that Tony had one too many already and he kept following us on all fours.
TPF_2412.jpg

3: Some time later he managed to get back on his legs but only to photograph random rooftops.
TPF_2439.jpg

4: As you can see we ended up in a very green part of Germany
TPF_2424.jpg

5: The official TPF shoe, we all adopted this fashion so we could operate our cameras more easily.
TPF_2447.jpg

6: This being a proper TPF meeting, of course there was always a lot of photo duelling going on ....
TPF_2459.jpg

7: ... while Hertz was taking pictures with his imaginary camera.
TPF_2488.jpg

8: Unimaxium at least had a real camera, but no real lens, so he kept wondering why all his images came out totally blurry around the edges.
TPF_2489.jpg

9: But life in the German wilderness is not all that peaceful, as many dangerous beasts just wait for the unwary.
TPF_2483.jpg

10: But fortunately we had the Lady of the Snake with us, an approved snake charmer, who helped us by bravely grabbing the snake by its tail so I could get this shot.
TPF_2482.jpg

11: The Lady of the Snake was apparently not scared by cameras or wild beasts.
TPF_2494.jpg

12: Andreas however, soon surrendered when he saw all those lenses pointing at him.
TPF_2531.jpg

13: When tempra put his glasses on, ...
TPF_2532.jpg

14: ... even the horses thought we were all just a laugh.
TPF_2563.jpg

15: ...
TPF_2574.jpg

16: Soon Chris and Daan got into their usual domination and submission play ...
TPF_2640.jpg

17: ... and most of us just watched them from a safe distance.
TPF_2687.jpg

18: There was also wildlife in Hamburg.
TPF_2835.jpg

19: But it was quite disappointing that I could never find that tug in the end.
TPF_2734_1.jpg

Now where was I?

Oh Yeah!

Sunday morning, and Sande was limbering up with the 10D getting ready for the day ahead

tpfg-124.jpg

Alex was wondering if he had made the right decision to come to the meetup and looked uncomfortable as someone took another crotch shot of him

tpfg-125.jpg

Jeff, already wearing his beer goggles, showed the way for the rest of the group

tpfg-126.jpg

So off we went, heading through the crowded streets of Lauenbruck, being careful not to lose sight of each other amongst the milling crowds, the north american contingent appeared to be suffering from jet lag and started to fall behind at this point.

tpfg-127.jpg

Up the bridge we went and across the very straight railway

tpfg-128.jpg

After an arduous climb up the bridge, we were filled with emotion and as always after the end of a major event, there comes a feeling of regret and loneliness as you go down the other side

tpfg-129.jpg

The feeling of loneliness and isolation continued as we rounded the corner and peered down the local high street

tpfg-130.jpg

But, as ever - being the TPF crew, we knew we had to do something to raise the spirits and get everyone back onto a high! Luckily enough, we stumbled upon the worlds biggest block of cannabis that I have ever seen!

tpfg-131.jpg

Once again, there was happiness in the camp, the elation was so much that no-one even bothered to look where they were going!

tpfg-132.jpg

Hey dude! look at this bug! it's waaaay cooool!!

tpfg-133.jpg

A little while futher on, and after returning to normal - well, as normal as can be - we spotted some horses in a field which provided a welcome distraction.

tpfg-134.jpg

Corinna chose a seat in a quiet spot to relax for a while

tpfg-136.jpg

Sabine chose a dangerous spot and just after this, got attacked by a tick

tpfg-137.jpg

Andreas became the official photographer of the official TPF meet - you can't get more official than that now can you?

tpfg-138.jpg

And Hertz viewed the world through upside down beer tinted glasses

tpfg-139.jpg

A slight detour into dangerous territory created a volley of shouts from the group, but in the words of Robert Capa - "If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough" or something like that...

tpfg-141.jpg

We took a short trip to the Russian baths to enable us to relax

tpfg-143.jpg

Then it was time to head back to camp for refreshments and a rest

tpfg-142.jpg

nice :)

Corinna, when will you start posting images?

Here's a batch from Tuesday...

More to come...

On Wednesday we made a trip to Bremen:

40. The Bremen market:
IMG_1513.jpg

41. We took a walking tour of the town hall (Ratskeller in German). Most of us just waited until the tour group had moved on to the next room, and then we stayed behind to photograph whatever we could focus on:
IMG_1528.jpg

42. They had some cool boats hanging from the ceiling:
IMG_1577.jpg

45. In the afternoon we had some free time, so some of us just wandered a bit and then found a place to sit down. This was in what appeared to be Bremen's shopping district:
IMG_1604.jpg

46. Hertz, Anty, Doenoe and I found a nice place by a windmill to sit down. Then we noticed Alex being sneaky from across the river...

Alex, most of my pics are still "Catholics" ... erm ... sorry. No. I mean ... RAW. I still need to convert most of them. But with you all having a "day off", I'm getting round to having some time for this, now that the dirty dishes from yesterday's barbecue party are washed up again ;).

Only are none of mine as funny or as good as the ones that have been shown already, taken by you (Alex), Sky and Tony (tempra), so I feel shy now.
