I'm thinking about getting a Nikon d-200. I'm wondering if I will be able to use iPhoto 5 and this old G3 computer or am I going to have to spend even more money and get photoshop and a better computer?

Depends on what you're doing. My current core2duo with 2gb of ram struggles to open Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop at the same time and edit a 16bit tiff file with multiple layers from the D200

That said my p3 800 laptop with 512mb of ram can do most simple edits just fine in Photoshop Elements 4.0. It did however struggle when I tried to open a panorama I made out of 4 photos.
