Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
So I went to the beach today in hopes of capturing a real exotic scene with my new B+W 10-STOP ND filter....no such luck but I did learn a few things in the 30 minutes I spent. I got real close on the exposure out the gate. Setup on Manual, set my Aperture, gazed at the metered speed for a proper exposure, screwed on the filter, calculated 10 stops in speed and voila...

I learned I need to be HELLA closer with a 17mm lens! I was right on the waters edge but damn if it doesn't look like I was way back on the beach!

I also learned I need to focus better.

Not really asking for C&C 'cause I know the photo is lame but if I had posted without a pic it just wouldn't have been right ;)

No, that's cool. I love the way water gets that ethereal look on longer exposures. Did the colour come out bad or did you start out wanting to do BW? I think a shot where that big rock almost fills the frame would give some interesting swirls in the mistiness. There's a guy on another forum that takes sunset pics in Australia. I'll see if I can find a link to one of his pics.

Truly I just wanted to get a good exposure but the black and white looked more interesting to me than color when editing.

A few minutes after I arrived and setup the tripod a nice dead seal rolled up on the beach and everyone had to come take a look, blocking my view :D

yeah, that 3rd one is incredible. Thanks! Notice how the lens is almost in the action?

lol, I thought about it but ....have you ever been to Santa Cruz? lol, dead seal endangerment they'll call it!
