Other than a mild lack of contrast, and a very very slight cool WB, I think the OPs shot was fine the way it is. Much better than the edits ( aside from Drex's of course :lmao: ) I would have to agree with cropping a little off the top and bottom though. I would also agree with Bitter ( as bitter as this makes me ) that this is in fact a decent rule of thirds since your subject is actually made up of pieces, and unless we are trying to inspect the cats taint, I am guessing the head is the main focal point.
