1st Sport Shots

Hello All. Took a few basketball shots at a gym near my house. These are my 1st sport shot and just wanted to upload for some suggestions. I know #1 I personally think I should have caught the feet as well since it shows it being cut off. Thanks in advance

Not bad; gyms are tough to shoot in, and you've got decent exposures. Try and shoot tighter to isolate the action. In #2, almost the whole right half of the image is wasted space.

Sport photography is tough to master. These are pretty good first shots. As already mentioned.. good exposure, only problem is the space. A crop job might be able to fix that though! Keep on clickin away

I like the crops here but on the first one, I would have cloned out the guy on the other end of the court.

Which version are you using? you should be able to use the clone stamp tool and select the wall in front of his nose and then paint him out. Be sure to continue on the floor and paint out his reflection. (I almost missed that myself).

Ended up using Google before I saw your post and it told me to do the exact same thing. Also used Content Aware Fill in Edit>Fill and seems to work but needs a bit more of a touch up.

Suggesting that the Op simply clone the guy out is really sending him off on the start of a bad habit. Looking for a clean background is one of the most important elements when it comes to shooting anything. Shooting sports in a gym is difficult, usually dealing with poor light, although this gym looks pretty good, people in the background, that kind of thing. Shooting tighter helps with the backgrounds, and of course just cropping tighter will help. In most cases clean backgrounds can be found anywhere, it just takes time to find one. The photos aren't too bad, the action is there.

Get low and use walls as your backdrop or get high and use floor
