For the lack of anything better to do I dug up some old pics from the first 2 months owning my cam to see if I could make them decent now that I have a better grasp on photoshop. Back then I only shot JPG (Duh to me) and didn't know how to use the white balance so I did what I could to restore them.

This one I'm not sure if I oversaturated. I like a nice vibrant picture but don't think I have had much success in the past. I know I should have focused more around the geese and done some zooming/cropping but the pic was on a golf course so I like the nice clean look on the landscape.

This one I really wish I had a wide angle lens for, and took a little more time.

C&C per req: I think you did all right with these. #1 is definitely well saturated, but it's not at critical mass quite yet. I might dial back the green channel just a hair though. #2 is nice, but I think could use a slight contrast boost and it needs to be leveled.

I agree with tirediron - dial back the green just a bit in the first one - there maybe different ways to do this depending on the software you are using and the second one can definitely use a contrast boost and a levelling - where the pathway disappears over the hill, it should be flat from left to right - now it slopes a bit to the right.

The secong one would have been great if the path was in the absolute centre. See the trees in the left and right of the frame.

Added contrast and tried to fix the hump. The symmetry was off a little on the right hand side so I tried to fake it :-\
was off on the right hand side so I tried to fake sdflknsdflknlnk asdfl

Dropped the green a little, did it work >.<

Much better, particularly the B&W - has a bit more pop to it now.

Cheers,

I really quite like the B&W photo. The bright white fences on the sides lead the eye nicely.
