5 Unusual Orchids

Running through my pics today, I was surprised at the number of unusual orchids pics I have. I have already posted many. These were shot with my D3300 and 55-300mm.

Those are really beautiful flowers. I really like the first photo!
 
I love orchids. I have always planed set up a good orchid case but never have.

Thanks bud. Yeah, they like weekly baths, kind of like my dad.

One of my big problems is that we don't have AC, and we heat with wood. So the temperature in the house really fluctuates a lot. Which I know A lot of them will not like, the case I have planed and started on is climate controlled.

Just got to bath them in the sink once a week. My problem is the cat, she just has to eat them, the leaf part mostly bit will nibble on petal. They are like crack for her. Got to keep the plant clean is what I found.
 
Orchids are a very sophicated plant. The flower with modified petals, ala an extended landing ramp for pollinators is very advanced. We have a number of Orchids in the front. They are happy there, not so happy in the back.
