Found a great condition JVC GZ-HD7 3CCD for $600 but I got it for $285 because the place is having Black Friday sales. all month long!!

You bought a camcorder and not a camera.
Why ask us about DSLR, waste our time and then go and buy a completly different thing.
You probably can take pictures with this too but it will not be at the same quality level a DLSR would produce.

Sorry if that was a waste of your time, buddy. My friend has a few point and shoots, and a few DSLR's and he thinks my camcorder performs as good as his DSLR's

....getting in on this after the fact,but,i think a GoPro would've been more what you're looking for.

I may get one in the future. I have a few go pro helmets anyways
