yup. its another sewing machine.
im still hacking my way through my wifes collection of vintage sewing machines.
they are all in good working order, and she uses every one of them. well, some more than others.
still going for a bit of a dark, coming out of the shadows look.
This is a White model 1563. (circa 1950's)

if you check my other portrait posts, you can see some of the other tables the wife has.
maybe sometime ill do some pics showcasing the different sewing tables these machines are in.

You guys are hoarders! It all makes sense now!

I do like the old fashioned machinery.
Everything is make from cast iron, stamped steel and heavy duty internals. Some of the equipment down at the machine shop at work are 100 years old and weigh as much as a small truck.

properly taken care of, i have no doubt the wifes vintage machines will be running for another 50 years.
sadly, i doubt the same can be said for her $1400 modern plastic computerized sewing machine.

thankfully, we are both very experienced at keeping parts lubricated.

Exactly. My wife went through 3 hand mixers until she got one of those fancy kitchenaide mixers. Sometimes it's worth paying a little more for the good well built stuff.
