Advice for Baseball Pics

Hi there

Highschool JV season is starting up again. I really want to get good images with good exposure. I'm attaching an image so you can see what I am up against. The field is very bright. Most games will be either mid-day OR after 4:30pm
Keep in mind i need a faster SS
Should i meter off the trees?
Please give me your ideas - I'll post thruout the season

According to your exif data you are shooting at 300mm ISO 200, f/8 and 1/500. If you simply want faster speed, bump your ISO to 400, and go to 1/800 or 1/1000.

That would (could) help with some of the brightness. Are you in the stands? Seems at 300mm the top picture would be tighter on the player.

iso400 at 1/800 will give you higher exposure and 1/1000 will give you the same exposure, open your aperture and take a meter reading off the grass that is lit similar to your subject and you will probably be at about 1/1250-1/1600 take a shot and check your histogram
