Advice on best harness for a woman?

So weddings are KILLING my back! I normally just use my basic straps and carry 2 cameras but I really need to find something more supportive and balanced that also gives me quick access to each camera. I've been looking at harnesses but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions before I go parting with my cash.

Just a comment, some harnesses attach to the tripoid mount. Which sucks if you also use a tripoid, and I've been told its too much weight hanging off a mount that isn't meant for that. The hole for the tripod isn't meant for that much weight. Now, that's what I've been told, and others may feel different. But I won't use those. I do have a generic sling that attaches to the spit where your camera strap goes and it helps a lot. It states it reduces the camera weight and I can wear it all days with tons of walking without my shoulder hurting.

The only thing that can increase the weight enough to be too much for the body's threaded tripod mount is a lens... and a lens that heavy will have it's own foot with another threaded hole.

Sparky, as I said d, some will disagree . I've talked to many regarding a sling, and the general comment, was that its better to have it attach where the strap is supposed to go. My camera and sigma lens are extremely heavy and I'm not willing to have it let go and hit the ground.

So you attach to where the camera strap goes, regardless of the weight of the lens?

BR makes a special screw that replaces the one on the tripod mount that allows you to keep the tripod mount on the camera all the time and attach the strap to the swivel on the bottom.

Mishele and I were talking about a ceiling-mounted, spinning, basket-type harness... but I digress... the OP mentions "basic straps"...I've really liked the Optech brand of neoprene straps,, which reduce the felt weight by around 50%...that elastic neoprene material just reduces fatigue sooooo well...I'm surprised more people have not tried this brand's offerings. I am using an Optech on my D2x that I bought back in May of 2005. That camera's main lens is an old 80-400 VR lens, which is fairly heavy.

thanks for for the advice everyone, I must admit I was slightly worried about them attaching via the tripod mount but most do seem to use this method.

I shall have a look at the ones suggested

has anyone tried the Holdfast money maker harness?

I have the Black Rapid double too but I think I will take a good look at the Spider one. I was just thinking of how easy it is to snatch your camera by others while you are busy holding the other one....and concentrating on your shot. Equipment loss can be very painful to the pocketbook.

I bought an adpater to allow me to attach my op/tech strap in this manner; quickly removed it.
