Ok Ant,

Its a Alaska Air Guard KC-135R, the UK fly EC-135J for NATO and they also had a 707 for awhile as a VIP bird.

I've never heard of the EC135J ever being flown by the RAF though. Are you sure you're not thinking of the E3?

I don't think the RAF never used 707s either. The big VIP birds are the VC10s. Although the BOAC 707s may have been used as VIP transport on occasion a few decades ago but it certainly wasn't common.
