Kate.. normally, opening several threads on the same subject in different areas (especially other peoples threads!!! You should just open your own thread!) is considered rude! I will give you the same answer here I gave you in your other thread!

It's SO easy! Go to Best Buy.. spend $700.00 on an entry level camera! While you are waiting in line at Best Buy.. create a business page on Facebook (use your smart phone to do this!)! If you are really serious.. you can even create your own website with Wordpress (This might take a couple of hours though). Start thinking about a really large watermark using your business name (so no one steals your precious photos!) Use Piknik and Instagram to create a cool, individual style of processing for your photos..... and boom! You are a PROFESSIONAL! ;-)

That seems to work for about 90% of the new Professionals out there.... should work for you too!

Or you can actually become a REAL photographer.. put in a minimum of 5 to 10 years of hard work learning all aspects of photography, go to school and get a business degree since Photography is about 90% business, 10% photography! Hope you get lucky!

Then kindly post this question in a STAND ALONE THREAD, rather than butting into to someone else's thread. That is like walking up to two people talking and just interjecting yourself into their conversation. And if you are new to photography, you have MANY MILESTONES AND MOST LIKELY MAY YEARS before you can call yourself a TRUE professional photographer.

You've seen this done before? I never have. Not saying I'm some god of knowing all things photography, but I've seen a fair bit so it just surprises me that I've managed to miss it.

It's alright, I've been in that same shell myself. Here's what you do to start your professional career in photography:
First of all, buy a Hasselblad H4D-40, with a standard HC 2.2/100mm lens.
Then, you'll need a backup body, so pick up an EOS 1D MK III with a Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L USM Lens. It's only a standard kit lens however, so you'll have to upgrade really quickly after getting it as your skillset increases.
Now, of course a professional photographer is not without flashes, so for your Canon I recommend picking up at least four Canon 580Ex Ii's, two backup Canon 580EX's, two Canon Mr-14Ex's and a couple Quantum QF8C QFlash Trio's. For your hasselblad you're looking at studio lighting, so I'd go with two sets of Profoto 910796 Acute2R 2400 Value Packs and for power a couple Bowens Explorer 1500 Two Mini Head Kits.

Now, for using the equipment.
Use P mode, Professional Mode. If you can't get P mode to give you the results you're looking for, then it's simply due to your lack of experience.
Use AWB, Auto White Balance. Using manual white balance settings is guaranteed to ruin your pictures.
Whenever possible, use a slower shutter speed and a smaller aperture. These will always yield better results then shooting with a faster shutter speed and larger aperture.
Whenever using flashes, always direct them straight on with the lens to the subject. Do not ever bounce light, it is harsh and unnatural looking.
