I could care less about controlling them. I just don't mind calling them out when they say something disturbing on a pubic forum. Again, it's the internet - that's an option. If someone is going to spew denigrating and disturbing comments, there should be no surprise when someone calls it for what it is. The bigger surprise should be when no one does.

As for your assertion that I lectured the rest of you so you'd feel bad that you laughed at his joke? I have no idea who laughed at his "joke". How would I know?

Further, I didn't lecture anyone. I just said his post was vile and disgusting and that I was surprised to see it in a photography forum. That isn't a lecture, that's just a statement of my reaction to what I read.

This is where I'm getting the feeling of lecture. You said it yourself that you are upset that people condone this type of joking. Maybe I read into it, but it seems that you believe that the rest of us should find this unacceptable.
