Ask a lawyer to write a contract for free. See how he reacts.
Or a mechanic to replace a part.
Or myself to ride your problem horse.
The answer is always pretty cold. The lady is lucky she didn't get laughed at as well. Labor is labor. I don't give training tips for free, nor lessons or training rides. Period. You want my help, you pay for it.
Yeah, but when someone says "that's a nice horse/dog/whatever", you don't automatically reply with "**** You, *****".
lol, of course not. But that's not what happened here, was it? The lady said 'I really like it, do it on my pictures too!' which is a totally different ball game.
Akin to: I love the fact that your horse actually listens. Make mine do that, too. Uh, no. Not for any less than $20 a ride, because you won't pay my medical bill when 'Fluffy' throws me into a fence 'over that horse-eating tree.' Given the risk is higher for my case, but still. It's labor, it's knowledge, it's expertise.
Bitter: If you don't want to you don't have to, but your comments and critiques are very helpful! =)
Along those lines though, in this case, I might have given a VERY brief overview as to how to accomplish the PP done to the photo. In my personal case, most people quit asking me for advice because I like the biomechanics of *why* a horse reacts a certain way and, more importantly, how to get leverage on an animal that outweighs you 10 fold. Generally people want an A-B-C solution, and those don't exist when you've got another critter with ideas of their own. Haha
