I met her through Model Mayhem and we went to Laguna Beach, California, to take a few shots. We found this scooter in the back of an alley but couldn't find the owner so I asked her just to lean on it a bit. I wanted to frame her more on the left side but then there was a HUGE garbage can on the right so I had no choice. lol It was a cloudy day so I thought no flash is needed. There are no catch lights in her eyes so that's something I need to remember the next time.

Comments, suggestions, criticism are welcome.

TIA

She's gorgeous, and she looks natural and relaxed. You did a good job on the processing. My only nitpick is that the scooter seems to be more prominent in both shots than she is (mirror and handlebars in front of her).

Perhaps a tiny bit of fill flash would have been good to brighten up her eyes, otherwise no issues with the lighting.

Post more man. So far pretty good. Too bad you didn't pose her next to an old VW.

Lovely model wasted on a crappy scooter and poor background, garbage can would have looked better than that scooter if it had been a 1960's Lambratta that would have been different , i though you said you went to the beach where is it ?

Good looking girl, if you had used a slightly higher camera position the wall edge wouldn't cut through her head.

I like the posing and the depth in both but in 2 the mirror is much brighter than everything and blocking part of the subject stealing attention.

Thanks for all the comments!

It's not my scooter so I didn't want to do anything to it, like moving it away from the wall or remove the mirrors. lol But yeah now that you all mention it, the mirror is kind of in the way.

This was at the beach but we were just walking through a couple of alleys. Oh fear not, the model and I will work together again in 2 weeks, so nothing is wasted... I hope. =)

Bikini next time

LOVELY.
how did you do the post process?

She's so pretty! Love that hair! I think these pictures are lovely, my only beef is that for at least one of them I would love to reach out and turn your camera to a portrait orientation. You have a beautiful model, and we are only getting to see part of her!

scooter definitely seems to more focal then the model. plus why only two shots that are almost the same? boring.

I LOVE the hair too. I posed her in the middle of a busy intersection and got a bunch of guys yelled out for her number. I thought that was pretty funny but unfortunately those shots didn't make the cut. =( I'm working with her on an on going basis for a project so I will have more pictures.

I posted only two shots of slightly different angles because I would like critiques on just the two, not the only two I took. =)

On the second photo, it looks like the scooter is staring at me more than the model.... a little weird. I'd have really bumped up the aperture on these to offset the focus.

My ND filter is on the way!!! :D

I prefer the second angle

I find the inclusion of the stairs/blur door/fence thing distracting in the first

The contrast between her hair and wall is quite nice
