Attach a word doc?

I would like to post a story in the creative section but was not able to attach a word document. What did I miss?

Thanks for the quick answer but I don't think that was it.
That type of file didn't even show up on the list to choose from but documents done in Wordpad (and saved as .txt) did.

Make it a PDF. Not everyone has MS Word.
